“WHERE CUSTOMERS AND TECHNOLOGY COME FIRST” Leading Edge Computers, Charlestown have been around, in some form, since September 1989. This started as Computer Spot Charlestown, which Gavin began managing after only four weeks of the store opening. Gavin and the Computer Spot team were selling computers, and everything computer related. With the managerial decision to wind up the Computer Spot store in early 1994, Gavin secured the premises and the phone number, and branched out on his own. Bytes ‘N Games was born on March 1, 1994. Bytes ‘N Games was heavily focused on games, and the gaming experience. However with the increasing pressure from importing legislation, and gaming supplier preferences, the focus has shifted into providing hardware that will satisfy even the most adventurous of gamers. In August 1999, Bytes ‘N Games, became part of the Leading Edge Computers Group. This means, that with the support of many independent computer retailers under a common identity, we have been able to secure better deals, and better support for our customers. This has allowed us to focus not only on hard core gaming customers, but to provide reliable, affordable computers for all walks of life. Hardware we are proud to put our name to. So times have changed and so have we. Starting out as Computer Spot in 1989, as Bytes ‘N Games in 1994 and now Leading Edge Computers Charlestown since 1999. Throughout our time, we’ve moved around Charlestown from 180 Pacific Highway, to Shop 2, 17 Smart Street and in 2002, to Shop 3D, 158 Pacific Highway (opposite McDonalds). Plenty of parking out the front of our shop. January 2006 we added a second store - this one is in Swansea, on the northbound side of the highway.
